Harvesting Khus Roots
Mature Khus (vetiver) roots are carefully harvested, thoroughly washed to remove soil and impurities, and cut into smaller sections to help release their natural aromatic compounds.
Loading the Copper Deg
The prepared Khus roots are placed into a traditional copper Deg along with water. The vessel is securely sealed and prepared for the distillation process.
Traditional Distillation & Fragrance Capture
The Deg is gently heated, allowing fragrant vapours to rise and travel through the connecting pipe into the Bhapka, where they condense. The aromatic distillate is traditionally collected in sandalwood oil, which absorbs and preserves the rich Khus fragrance.
Maturation & Finishing
The attar is carefully aged and allowed to settle, giving the fragrance time to harmonize and develop its smooth, deep, earthy, and long-lasting character. It is then carefully filtered and prepared for bottling.
